Contributions
Racing Years is a web-based, free-content database project that is supported by our users and based on a model of openly editable content. We are a live collaboration that differs from web-based or paper-based reference sources.
Any user can write and make changes to the database, except in limited cases where editing is restricted to prevent disruption or vandalism.
Many websites are written collaboratively by largely anonymous volunteers, but in Racing Years, we want to give something in exchange to our users: a Contribution Points (CP) system.
It is based on the information that users upload to the database.
How can you earn CPs?
Below, we explain the points system for all the fields where you can contribute.
Qualifying
Every time you upload qualifying results for every driver you will receive
Race
Every time you upload race results for every driver you will receive
Standings
Every time you upload standings for every championship you will receive
* Present year standings will be uploaded exclusively by our admins
Biography
Every time you upload a driver's biography, a car or team history, you will receive
* This info will be previewed by moderators
** The maximum size of a biography is limited to 8.000 characters
Born/Death
Every time you upload the born date or death date of a driver you will receive
* This info will be previewed by moderators
Image
Every time you upload an image of a driver, car or team logo, you will receive
* This info will be previewed by moderators
City
Every time you upload the city of a driver you will receive
* This info will be previewed by moderators
Country
Every time you upload the country of a driver you will receive
